Trial of Nine Men Accused of Abusing Woman Drugged and Raped by Husband Begins

The trial of nine men accused of various sexual offences committed against a woman drugged by her husband has now commenced with the Prosecution opening the case at Manchester Minshull Street.
John FitzGerald KC and James Harrison represent one of the defendants accused of non-contact offending.
The complexion of the case, which had been due to commence in September, has changed with the husband having pleaded guilty and will now be called as a Prosecution witness.
The trial is expected now to run into January 2027.
