Complaints information

We aim to exceed levels of expectation in all aspects of our service, whether by a practising barrister or a member of staff.

However, if this is not the case and you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, we would encourage you to let us know as soon as possible.

Our complaints policy and procedure is available here

This document also contains information about any right you may have to complain to the Legal Ombudsman (LeO) about a legal service provider who acted for you. This is the independent body which can help you if you have complained to Chambers about one of our barristers and you are not happy with our response. We also explain how to complain to the LeO and any time limits that may apply.

More information about the LeO is available on their website here

This includes LeO decision data that sets out the names of legal service providers which received an ombudsman’s decision in the previous 12 months, and whether LeO required the provider to give the consumer a remedy.

Alternatively, you can contact LeO at:

Website: www.legalombudsman.org.uk
Contact us: https://www.legalombudsman.org.uk/contact-us/
Email: enquiries@legalombudsman.org.uk
Telephone: 0300 555 0333 or +44 121 245 3050
Post: Legal Ombudsman, PO Box 6167, Slough, SL1 0EH

Alternative complaints bodies as approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute also exist which are competent to deal with complaints about legal services (known as Alternative Dispute Resolution or ADR), should you and the legal service provider who acted for you both wish to use such a scheme. If you wish to use your chosen ADR provider, please contact us to discuss this, including time limits for contacting your chosen ADR. Please also note that if mediation is used, neither you nor the barrister is required to accept the proposed resolution.

The Bar Standards Board investigates concerns of professional misconduct or professional disciplinary issues.
