Inquest concludes shopping centre roof contributed to fatality

October 10, 2017

The jury in the Tahnie Martin inquest concerning the 29 year old university worker who was killed by a large wooden panel that broke off the roof of a shopping centre in Wolverhampton during Storm Doris in February 2017, have just returned their conclusions. The jury found that the absence of maintenance of the roof structures led to the death.

The Assistant Coroner has made a ‘Prevention of Future Deaths Report’ to the Registered Institute of Chartered Surveyors to address issues of concern about the way in which surveys and inspections are carried out

Tanya Robinson acted for Tahnie Martin’s family and fiance.
