Attempted Murder Trial – John FitzGerald and Kieran Brand defending.

December 10, 2024

John FitzGerald and Kieran Brand are instructed by Bark & Co solicitors on behalf of the first Defendant in an attempted murder trial currently being tried before HHJ Anthony Bate at Central Criminal Court. The Crown’s case is that on 24 June 2024 a gang member happened to be seen on territory associated with a rival gang. This resulted in a pursuit of the gang member by the second Defendant on a moped, who was in telephone contact with the first Defendant and others who co-ordinated the pursuit. The first Defendant is alleged to have switched from a Mercedes vehicle to an electric scooter as part of the pursuit, before riding to intercept the member of the rival gang and firing three shots at him from a 9mm handgun at near point-blank range. The victim did not engage with police and there is no identification evidence, but the Crown rely on substantial CCTV and mobile phone analysis in presenting a circumstantial case against first Defendant. The trial continues.
