William Upton KC advises on Local Plan intervention by the Ministry

William Upton KC has been advising on the intervention letters sent by Ministers to local planning authorities. Recent announcements now mean that there are ten local planning authorities which have had the Secretary of State intervene in their local plan process in the last three months. The Secretary of State may soon take action in London, as the ad hoc group he asked to review the London Plan are due to deliver their report by 15 January 2024. The next steps for the Department and for the local planning authorities remains to be seen. Further details are here.
