Victoria Tube Station murder trial ends following a 5 month trial

October 5, 2014

The first part of the Victoria Tube Station murder ended in May 2011 following a five month trial. It was the largest joint enterprise murder trial in the UK. The case involved an attack during the rush hour, by a number of youths on a 15 year old which ended in the Victoria Tube Station where he was stabbed many times. Richard Barraclough QC was leading for the defence of Samuel Roberts. Roberts who was present throughout the attack and kicked the deceased whilst he was being stabbed, was mercifully acquitted of murder but convicted of manslaughter and certain other offences. He will be sentenced at the end of all three trials.
