Tom Dunn secures acquittal of 17 year old in gang rape case

Tom Dunn, instructed by Sara Haroon of Bond Joseph Solicitors, has secured the acquittal of a 17 year old Syrian asylum seeker on two counts of rape following a 10 day trial at Maidstone Crown Court.
The Jury acquitted following deliberations lasting nearly 2 days. The case has attracted widespread national media attention. The prosecution had alleged that the complainant had been lured back to a house in Gillingham by a group of young men and then subjected to a three hour ordeal in which she was raped repeatedly by different men. The defence was one of consent and hinged upon recordings of the complainant taken on the 17 year old’s mobile phone.
