Tom Dunn instructed by SECCU to prosecute substantial human trafficking case
May 22, 2015
Tom Dunn has been instructed on behalf of the South Eastern Complex Casework Unit of the CPS to prosecute Josef and Marion Dzuga for a number of human trafficking offences arising out of a substantial and long standing police investigation styled Operation Dorking. The allegations date back to 2005 and involve vulnerable Slovakian complainants who were either trafficked into the UK, or targeted once in the UK, under the inducement of a better life.
Under the control of the Dzuga brothers, the complainants had to endure squalid living conditions and work very long hours, the reward for which was largely retained by the Defendants.
The trial is due to be heard at Maidstone Crown Court in April 2016 and is likely to last 5 weeks.
