April 19, 2023

The case of Samuel Hardiman has concluded with his acquittal by unanimous verdicts. Mr Hardiman appeared before a jury at Maidstone Crown Court, and was said to have been once of two masked attackers who targeted a residential address in Ashford, Kent on the evening of 21st November 2019. During the incident one occupant of the address suffered serious injuries as he fought one of the attackers who was armed with a large hunting knife.

The Prosecution case turned on circumstantial evidence, including DNA recovered from the knife (which was left at the scene) and mobile phone cell-site evidence. Mr Hardiman insisted he was never at the scene and played no part in what occurred.

The defendant was represented by Thomas Stern.
