Oliver Saxby QC’s Sex Exploitation Trial Continues at Old Bailey

March 14, 2016

The case of a 36 year old man facing allegations of rape and sexual activity allegedly committed against a young and vulnerable 13-14 year old, back in 2007/2008, is entering its third week.

Oliver Saxby QC is leading for the Crown.

The complainant gave her evidence over the course of 2 days, in court, from behind screens, with the assistance of an intermediary – her very lengthy ABE interviews being unsuitable to be played as evidence in chief. The Crown allege that the defendant met the complainant when she was 13 or 14 and proceeded to take advantage of her, having sex with her on a number of occasions over the next few months.

The trial, before the Common Serjeant, is expected to conclude next week.
