Nightclub secures return of its licence

Stuart Jessop represented a Weymouth nightclub which had its licence revoked after summary review proceedings brought by the police and licensing authority because of significant drug dealing uncovered at the premises in late 2021.

At the appeal Stuart was able to agree slightly reduced hours and other conditions to persuade the licensing authority to agree to the reinstatement of the premises licence. The case emphasises the importance of robust and focused conditions in the promotion of the licensing objectives.
