Legal consequences of the separation of the Chagos Archipelago from Mauritius (ICJ Advisory Opinion)

Jill Barrett has been invited to chair a seminar on 11 December 2017 to discuss the pending judicial proceedings concerning the request by the UN General Assembly for an International Court of Justice (ICJ) Advisory Opinion on ‘Legal consequences of the separation of the Chagos Archipelago from Mauritius‘. The discussion will centre on the litigation before domestic UK courts as well as the public international law discussion concerning the Chagos Islanders and examine the merits of the case before the ICJ. The panel consists of leading international law practitioners and academics.
