John FitzGerald Appointed King’s Counsel

Six Pump Court is pleased to announce that John FitzGerald has been appointed King’s Counsel, following the Silks appointments announced by the Lord Chancellor on 23 January 2026.
John was formally appointed KC at the official silk ceremony, which took place on 23rd March 2026.
Called to the Bar in 1998, John is a highly experienced and respected advocate specialising in criminal defence work. He is one of the best-known practitioners on the South Eastern Circuit and also maintains a busy practice in London. His work spans the full range of serious and complex criminal cases, and he is particularly well known for representing defendants in challenging and high‑profile matters.
John’s advocacy has been consistently recognised in the legal directories, including The Legal 500, where he has been praised for his determination, courage, and effectiveness as a defender.
The appointment reflects John’s longstanding excellence in advocacy and his significant contribution to the criminal Bar. Six Pump Court warmly congratulates John on this well‑deserved achievement.
