The case concerns a violent turf war, tit for tat murders and famous rappers Fredo and Digga D.
Two conspiracies are alleged. The first to possess firearms with intent to endanger life and a second to convey mobile phones into prison. The background to the allegations is an acrimonious turf war between rival gangs in West London involving multiple tit for tat murders. One of the gangs (“The Harrow Road Boys”) is alleged to be led by well known rapper and musician ‘Fredo’. The other main gang is alleged to be led by another well known rapper and musician “Digga D”. The case raises a number of complex issues including the extent of admissibility of background gang association material such as ‘drill music’
