James Harrison represents man accused of grievous bodily harm.
June 26, 2025

James represented a 23-year-old man, CS, at sentence. CS was originally charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent to do grievous bodily harm, intentional strangulation, and making threats to kill. James drafted representations and the Crown accepted a plea to inflicting grievous bodily harm, contrary to s.20 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.
CS was responsible for assaulting his partner in front of their 2-week-old baby during which he caused her a fracture of a left zygoma and a black eye.
At sentence, after James’s mitigation, the learned judge undertook an exceptional course and imposed a 24-month community order.
James was instructed by Hermeet Saund of Vyman Solicitors.
