George Hinde Moot Competition: Winners Announced
April 24, 2025

We are delighted to share the winners of the George Hinde Moot Competition 2024–2025, proudly sponsored by Six Pump Court.
The competition concluded with a fantastic final at Queen Mary University, judged by Mr Justice Knowles. The moot centred on an appeal concerning the compatibility of an OFCOM rule with Article 10 of the ECHR – a challenging and significant legal issue. Finalists rose to the occasion, demonstrating clarity, composure, and impressive courtroom advocacy.
Natalie Sheelam was named the overall winner of this year’s competition. A first-year Law student, Natalie earned high praise from both Her Honour Judge Baucher in the semi-finals and Mr Justice Knowles in the final for her thoughtful, persuasive advocacy.
Adam Haque received the Yeats and Lanes Award, which recognises the first-year student who progressed the furthest in the competition. Adam stood out for his engaging style and strong analytical skill throughout.
Both Natalie and Adam have been awarded three-day mini-pupillages with Six Pump Court. Congratulations to them, and to all who participated in this year’s competition!
