Danny Moore KC and Emin Kandola conclude murder case at the Old Bailey
October 7, 2026

Danny Moore KC, leading Emin Kandola, represented AM at the Central Criminal Court on a charge of murder arising from the death of an 86 year old man following an assault during a domestic burglary.
During the night of 28-29 September 2025, AM entered the home the victim shared with his wife in Hackney. The burglary took place over a prolonged period, with AM leaving the property and returning to steal further items. During the burglary, AM delivered a single headbutt to the victim, fracturing his nose and causing a bleed to the brain. The victim was taken to hospital and initially discharged, but subsequently died from his injuries a day later.
The proceedings also concerned further offending that night, including a burglary of supported accommodation, an attempted burglary and an assault upon an occupant who confronted AM with a bicycle pump. A separate indictment concerned an earlier burglary, attempted burglary and possession of cocaine with intent to supply.
During the trial, following the resolution of medical causation issues, AM pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the accepted basis of a single headbutt.
Danny and Emin were instructed by Jas Virdee of Virdee Solicitors.
