Ethan joined Chambers from the Crown Prosecution Service, where he completed pupillage and spent time practising as an in-house Crown Advocate. During that time, he obtained a wealth of experience prosecuting a range of, oftentimes complex, cases in the Crown, Magistrates’ and Youth Court. He obtained a reputation for being fair and balanced, working tirelessly to deliver just outcomes for all involved in criminal proceedings.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Ethan worked as a Justices’ Legal Adviser in the East Kent Magistrates’ Courts, advising magistrates on the law, procedure, and their responsibilities as members of the Judiciary. He worked to ensure that unrepresented Defendants were supported through the Court process and that the Court accommodated those who needed additional assistance.
He also has a wealth of experience in the Charitable sector, spending many years as a Trustee and Vice Chair of his local Citizens Advice charity and, in 2022, founding his own not-for-profit organisation which sought to work with local schools and youth organisations to support young LGBTQ+ individuals.
