William Upton KC is a speaker in the Annual PEBA Conference

The PEBA annual conference today in London is dealing with current trends. Our own William Upton KC is part of the panel of speakers dealing with the role of expert evidence in planning appeals. He will be talking about the particular experience of third parties in the process – whether as statutory consultees with their own regulatory responsibilities, or as members of the public. Planning is, after all, a public process and not a court case. We can also question whether the planning experts know best. These are questions as old as planning itself, but are under greater scrutiny today as the government tries to promote its Agenda for Growth.
