Trial of Coronation Street actor Michael Le Vell concludes

The trial of Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell concluded last week with the actor being acquitted of allegations of the rape and sexual abuse of an underage girl. The acquittal followed five days of evidence at Manchester Crown Court and was covered heavily by the media.
Eleanor Laws QC of Six Pump Court Chambers was prosecuting.
Despite the acquittal, in an article appearing in the Guardian, Eleanor Laws QC was described in her prosecution as having ‘dismantled his character more clinically than any Coronation Street scriptwriter could possibly have done’.
