The Royal Proclamation

September 12, 2022

Chambers very sadly notes the passing of Her Majesty The Queen. Our sympathies are with members of the Royal Family at this time. In this period of national mourning, there has also been the opportunity to acknowledge the succession and continuity of the Crown. William Upton KC CC joined other Common Councillors, the Lord Mayor and Aldermen at the Royal Exchange on Saturday for the Second Proclamation, the historic ceremony in the City at which His Majesty King Charles III was proclaimed as the heir to the late Queen Elizabeth II. This followed directly on from the proclamation at St James’s Palace. William participated as an elected member on behalf of Farringdon Without, the City ward which includes the Temple.

Chambers will be observing the bank holiday on September 19, the day of Her Majesty’s State Funeral.
