Teenagers prosecuted for rape and sexual assault of ‘comatose’ victim

Nina Ellin has prosecuted a trial which resulted in the conviction of a young man for rape and another for sexual assault. The facts were significant because the actual incident was filmed on the victim’s friend’s phone, as her friend came into the room and caught them in the act. The victim herself had been comatose through drink and had no memory of having had sexual intercourse at all.

The main defendant received an 8 year sentence.
