Simon Taylor, Thomas Stern & Lucy Luttman judge at Bar Mock Trial Competition

A regional heat of the Bar Mock Trial Competition 2019/20 was held last weekend on Saturday 9th November 2019 at Maidstone Crown Court. Organised by Young Citizens (an initiative of the Citizenship Foundation charity), the heat saw school teams from across the South-East present jury trials featuring counts of ‘assault occasioning actual bodily harm’ and ‘possession of class A drugs with intent to supply’.
The event was supported by members of the Six Pump Court Criminal Team – Simon Taylor, Thomas Stern and Lucy Luttman – who judged and scored cases, and offered feedback to participating students.
The event was won by Maidstone Grammar School, who will compete in the national final at the Central Criminal Court in early 2020.
