September 18, 2025

Róisín Finnegan chaired a UKELA event on air pollution law and public health held at Irwin Mitchell on 17 September.
The panel featured Professor Eloise Scotford (Dean of the UCL Faculty of Laws) and Alan Andrews (Environmental Lawyer), with a presentation from Baroness Jones of Moulsecoomb, who introduced the Clean Air (Human Rights) Bill.
Discussions examined the UK’s current legal framework on air quality, identifying key shortcomings and areas where it diverges from the EU’s new Ambient Air Quality Directive. The panel also highlighted litigation trends and opportunities, including the potential role of a proposed Clean Air (Human Rights) Bill in strengthening protections.
Róisín accepts instructions in all areas of environmental law. Details of her work can be found here.
