Nina Ellin KC and Ben Irwin secure acquittals on all counts in a murder trial at Canterbury Crown Court.

April 23, 2025

The defendant (KI) had claimed to have been acting at all times in self defence when the deceased’s group approached and then attacked him and his group in a small square in Canterbury City Centre. Both he and his codefendant suffered injuries and the deceased died of a single stab wound to the heart. KI has now been acquitted of all counts, including murder, manslaughter, possession of a bladed article and assault.
