Emin Kandola secures unanimous verdicts of not guilty in rape trial.

R v SM – D allegedly raped his ex-partner’s sister. D was charged with rape and assault by penetration. In October 2024, D allegedly attended the complainant’s address in the early hours of the morning, raped and sexually assaulted her and left the property. D accepted sexual intercourse took place; the issue in the trial was consent. After a five day trial at Canterbury Crown Court, including lengthy cross-examination of the complainant, the jury returned unanimous verdicts of not guilty.
