Development of National Significance

Michael Bowes is representing ‘STOP Craig Y Perthi’ an opposition group at a Development of National Significance (DNS) hearing concerning a proposed solar energy development in the Gwent Levels.

The proposal, brought forward by RWE Renewables UK, involves the construction of a large-scale solar farm with associated battery storage units, infrastructure, access tracks, and grid connection.

The site lies between the M4 motorway and the South Wales Main Line railway near Llanwern, and is on and adjacent to the a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

The DNS hearing is scheduled for 26–27 March 2025.
