Bogus caller makes over 700 calls to the emergency services costing around half a million pounds

27 year old woman, Sharna Dixon was sentenced after pleading guilty to persistently calling the emergency services, and unlawfully wounding a police officer.

Ms Dixon made over 700 calls to the emergency services including police, ambulance services and HM Coast Guard, costing around half a million pounds. On one occasion Ms Dixon called the police stating she was suicidal. When they attended to aid her, Ms Dixon recklessly pushed a police officer in to the canal resulting in him sustaining a broken wrist. Ms Dixon was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment at Maidstone Crown Court.
