Call: 2022

Ethan has a broad criminal practice, both prosecuting and defending, in the Magistrates’ and Crown Courts of Kent and the South-Eastern circuit.

Ethan is regularly instructed to represent clients in a range of criminal proceedings, including for allegations of domestic abuse and the supply of drugs. In particular, Ethan represents a range of vulnerable clients and, with his calm and assured approach, strives to ensure that clients understand proceedings and achieve the best outcomes.

In addition to his defence work, Ethan is a Grade 2 Prosecution Counsel on the CPS Advocates Panel. He is regularly instructed to prosecute a range of complex and serious trials, regularly dealing with cases typically reserved for Grade 3 advocates.

He has worked in the Criminal Justice System since October 2022 when he started as a Justices’ Legal Adviser at the East Kent Magistrates’ Courts. There, he gained significant exposure to criminal law, procedure, and advocacy which fostered a passion for criminal justice right from the start of his career.

In October 2023, he commenced pupillage at the Crown Prosecution Service, based at Canterbury. In March 2025, Ethan was elected a full member of Six Pump Court Chambers and commenced practice as a Tenant, following which he continued to build his practice and consolidate his reputation for being an effective, balanced, and fair advocate.
